Pack 277 Scouts had a great time exploring at the Seneca Park Zoo! Pizza, evening tour of the zoo, and animal presentations – a millipede, tarantula, python, & parrot! What more could you ask for during a pandemic!? Most of the animals were really lively and curious at that hour and the presenters were super knowledgable.
We had a blast at our first inaugural Trunk or Treat! Thanks to all of the families who participated.
Cubs in Camp at Camp Cutler on OCT 10th was great time. Thank you to all the families who participated.

The 2020 Pack 277 Pinewood Derby is in the books! Congratulations to Dominic H., in the Arrows of Light den for his first place finish in the Finals. Dominic’s derby car, The Dalmation, consistently ran under four seconds! Fantastic job! Unfortunately, Dominic is moving on soon but he’ll always be welcome to return and teach the Cubs a thing or two about derby car efficiency.
There were some great looking cars; Unicorn Thunder, a speeding Hot Dog, a Ghostbusters themed car. Great job showing creativity in these builds!
A big thanks to the volunteers who worked set-up, take-down, and those helped with the derby race.
Thanks Mr Gilchrist for planning and executing our FEB 22 den meeting, Floats and Boats. We had a great time in the pool and learning some important lessons, such as understanding the buddy system and reach and assist. Thanks for displaying to the Scouts how to be a Helpful Scout.
Congratulations to Donnie, Joey, and Dominick for completing the Duty to God Award. This award is earned when Scouts display their faith at church or assist with a special service at their church. They are pictured here, with Bishop Salvatore Matano at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Great Job Scouts!
Pack 277 Annual Pinewood Derby Event
The pinewood derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels, and metal axles. Today is the day the Scouts race the cars they have been working on the last few months.
This will be a fun-filled evening. The Scouts will be checking out the other cars, racing, and just having fun!
